In Galveston he became a competative skateboarder, an avid fisherman, and maintained the neighboorhood’s pools. His father moved the family to Austin just in time for Gerry to attend High School. Here Gerry spent time playing musical instruments (bass, guitar, madolin, dobro and banjo) He also started working at his dad’s ranch in Lockhart. The hard work of the ranch taught him a good work ethic. He also developed a keen interest in hunting.
